Evaluating Inspiratory Tidal Volumes at Different Frequencies on the Sensormedics 3100A High Frequency Oscillatory Ventilator. Amoroso S, Raffa T, Malloy R, et al. Philadelphia PA.
Using a test lung model, tidal volumes were measured at different frequencies on the Sensormedics 3100A HFOV. The ventilator was set with a mean airway pressure of 20, amplitude of 40, IT of 33%, and flow of 20. As expected, tidal volume increased as frequency decreased. The range was from 4.14 cc @ 15 Hz to 6.64 cc @ 4 Hz.
